NUESTRA HISTORIA

Nos conocimos en diciembre de 2017 en el YuYu. Yo estaba con mis amigas y Jose con uno de sus amigos. Casualmente estábamos en el mismo lugar. En un momento, una de mis amigas (Sof) me dijo: "Creo que es mi primo". La verdad es que no le creí hasta que hicieron "eye contact" y se saludaron. Terminamos yendo por unos tacos y luego me llevaron a casa.

En enero, mi amiga Sof (prima de Jose) me invitó a una boda de unos primos. Fui y fue realmente en esa boda donde surgió el amor, aunque el plan de invitarme había sido un plan con maña. Jose le había dicho a Sof que me invitara. En esa misma boda, Jose me invitó a otra boda de otra prima, pero fue muy claro: "Esta vez vienes como mi "date", no como amiga de Sof". Fui, la pasamos muy bien y emepezamos a hablar seguido por videollamada, télefono y por mensaje, viéndonos mucho al principio. Me visitaba en México y yo a él en SF, y así fueron tres años de nuestra relación, que cabe mencionar que antes de conocer a Jose yo decía que nunca iba a tener una relación a distancia y nunca iba a vivir en Estados Unidos... perooo para el 2021, casi terminando la pandemia, me mudé a San Francisco.

We met in December 2017 at the YuYu. I was with my friends and Jose was with Nik, one of his friends. Coincidentally, we were in the same place. At one point, one of my friends (Sof) said to me: "Wait, I think he's my cousin". Honestly, I didn't believe her until they made eye contact and greeted each other as if they hadn't seen each other in years, which was true. We ended up going for tacos and then they dropped me off at home.

In January, my friend Sof (Jose's cousin) invited me to a cousin's wedding. She said: "Here's Jose" and sent me a picture of the two of us, which by the way, I never remember that moment. I went and it was really at that wedding where love blossomed, even though the plan to invite me had been a sneaky one. Jose had told Sof to invite me. At that same wedding, Jose invited me to another cousin's wedding, but he was very clear: "This time you're coming as my 'date', not as Sof's friend". I went, we had a great time, and months later we continued talking through video calls, phone calls, and messages, often for 2 hours or more, but yes... seeing each other a lot at the beginning. He would visit me in Mexico and I would visit him in San Francisco, and that's how three years of our relationship went, which I must mention that before meeting Jose I said I would never have a long-distance relationship and I would never live in the United States... but by 2021, almost at the end of the pandemic, I moved to San Francisco.

In 2023, Jose surprised me with a trip to Japan and it turns out he had everything planned... we got engaged in Kyoto and today, in 2024, we're getting married!
